Born in a small farming community in Ohio, Jay has always been surrounded by nature and all it has to offer. He moved to North Carolina in 1993 and worked at the renowned Fearrington Village where he polished his skills in floral design and gardening. Charlotte became home in 1997 where he opened his own floral design business.

Sissy Hunter completes the design team of In Bloom, Ltd. From  Columbia, SC, Sissy offers a background in horticultural studies and landscape design. Sissy and Jay became business partners in 1998 and formed In Bloom, Ltd. in 2002. Their attention to design, detail, personal service, and most importantly listening and interpreting their clients' needs defined their business philosophy.
